My wife and I had a pet Yorkie named Murphy who passed away over two years ago.  There's still a Yorkie sized whole in our hearts, but that sadness disappear for a brief period whan we rescued a stray dog.

A few weekends ago we took in a dog that had been dumped, at night, in the cold and rain.  My wife, the bigger softie of the two of us, could not ignore his cries so we brought him in and dried him off.  He was very sweet and tame.  He quickly made himself at home.  We spent the next five days checking all the local vets, groomers, shelters, even internet sources, etc. to see if anyone reported any similar dog missing.  Without any luck on  that front we looked for someone who might want a dog and found him a new home.

While he stayed with us, we called our litte Christmas miracle "Buddy" as in Buddy the elf.  As you'll see on the list to follow that's one of the more popular names for male dogs.   We've thought that if we ever decided to have a dog again...it would be a Yorkie and we might even get two, a male and a female.  We agreed that perhaps a the names of a famous movie couple might fit.  Rhett and Scarlet, Harry & Sally or my favorite Hannibal and Clarice!   Still I think that's a long way off .
