If you buy it, they will come. That's what an investment group that includes Hall of Fame third baseman Wade Boggs is hoping. Last week Go The Distance Baseball LLC completed an oft-delayed deal to purchase the farm and field for $3.4 million dollars. The firm hopes to turn the iconic property, featured in the 1989 movie Field of Dreams, into multiple baseball and softball tournament and training fields in the spring of 2014. All-Star Ballpark Heaven will initially feature 12 fields and 60 "clubhouses" for lodging before adding more fields in 2017. The "Field Of Dreams" presently attracts 65,000 visitors a year.
