Hey everybody! I'm glad to be back visiting with you on a daily basis. If you've ever listened to Mid Ohio's Country WNCO, then we're probably already friends. If not , let me introduce myself. I'm Matt Appleby, a Lexington native and Ashland High School graduate who's been on the air in mid Ohio since the winter of 1980. And yes that is my real name (who'd make that up?) My wife Kelly and I make our home in Mansfield and our daughter Sara is out on her own working as a case manager RN for a home health care agency. And while this is my first opportunity to DJ on Y105, I have been a fan of this station for a long time and I love the music. I'd be glad to have you as a Facebook friend, too. Thanks for tuning in weeknights on Y105!
Blues, Melodic Rock and The "UnDead" highlight the 2013 Rock-n-Ribs entertainment schedule. The annual North Central State College fund raising event , now in its 28th year, will begin Thursday night July 11th with headliners Firehouse and special opening act Departure. Firehouse, who broke out in the 90's with hits "Don't Treat Me Bad" and "Love Of A Lifetime", still boast having three of it's original four members. Friday July 12th, Rock-N-Ribs will feature rock from Duff, SOBOS and Here Come The Mummies who are very popular here in Ohio. It's a band you have to see perform live to truly enjoy. Saturday at Rock-N-Ribs 2013 will see Jimmy Warner, The Ohio Express and blues great Kenny Wayne Sheppard ("Blue On Black").
The 2013 event will feature a new treat for beer lovers, a craft beer tent, where a wide variety of unusual craft beers can be sampled. Combine that with other cold beverages, the music, and of course ribs...we are in for a tasty weekend. Admission will be $5 Thursday, $5 before 7pm Friday and Saturday, $10 after 7pm Friday and Saturday.
