The Wilderness Center Woodcarvers Show Sat., Sep. 15, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sun., Sep. 16, 1-4 p.m. Mark your calendars for the TWC Woodcarving Show with carving displays, demonstrations, and door prizes. Vote for your favorite carving, buy a raffle ticket, learn carving basics, and have lunch. Free. The Wilderness Center is a nonprofit nature center located one mile west of Wilmot, Ohio just north of highway 250. The Center is dedicated to connecting our community with nature, educating people of all ages, conserving natural resources and practicing environmental stewardship. The Center derives its support from memberships and donations. It is not a government agency and is not supported by taxes.

 

 

AFRICAN VIOLET SHOW & SALE AT KINGWOOD CENTER- The Ohio State African Violet Society again has chosen the beautiful Kingwood Center, 900 Park Avenue West, in Mansfield, Ohio as the venue for its 2012 Annual Show and Sale, “Violets Celebrate”.  Members of OSAVS and attendants come from many areas of the country and Canada. The show features beautiful African violets, unique plant Designs and different Gesneriads. OSAVS members will be on hand to answer growing questions.  Educational workshops will be available both days.  The show and sale dates and times are as follows: Friday, September 14 - Sale from 9 am to 5 pm and Show from 1 pm to 5 pm. Saturday, September 15 - Show and Sale from 9 am to 4 pm. Commercial growers will offer African violet and Gesneriad plants, cuttings, leaves, soilless potting mix and pots.  The African violet show is free with admission of $5.00/car to Kingwood Center.  Contact Lori H rahilfer@roadrunner.com or 440-821-2967 with questions.
